Hiking to Angelus Hut

Early rise and breakfast at 7am. It was in the 70s when we started the uphill hike from Lakehead Hut to Angelus Hut. WE will cover over 6 miles today. The hike started out flat hiking through a river wash. Hiked thru some forest, following the river and stated going uphill. We were lucky that the waterv lever was so low and we did not had to ford across it. Farther up water was present and huge trouble could be seen. Marty said a few were a good 10 pounds.

We entered a mossy forest, hiking over roots and rocks. It was tough hiking. we ahd to scramble over rocks and just kept going up. We crossed a couple suspension bridges over rapids, creeks or rivers. Several waterfalls as well.

After crossing the last large bridge, no more shade. All rocks and straight up! Had some great views.

Up, up, we hiked. Loose rocks and large boulders. We had several views of fasle peaks, thinking we were almost there, buy no. We had a very hard scramble for what seemed like miles. We kept plugging along. A great work that is for sure. Stopped at a creek for lunch and to cool off a bit. Hardest hike we have ever done due to terrain and carrying large packs. The Angelus Hut sat next to two lakes. It was beautiful. Exhausted.
