Bula! We are in Fiji

One last NZ meat pie for breakfast at the airport. Our flight was delayed due to fog by about 40 minutes. It is a 3 hour flight and we received lunch which was a pleasant surprise. Air New Zealand does a nice job. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a shell neacklace, bottle of water and "Bula"- the traditional greeting. Hopped in our hotel shuttle and off we went. Our driver asked if we wanted to stop at a store, so we did and picked up bottles of water, beer and snacks. The hotel was about an hour away and our driver filled us in on local Fiji history and culture. Once we arrive at Yatule, another necklace and we were serenaded by the staff and given a fruity drink. The deliverd our liggage to our "bure". Only 36 rooms, a pool, restuarant and bar. Very quiet, peaceful and tropical. So many flowers blooning and fresh flowers in our room.

It was warm and we went for a swim and walked the beach. Haopy hour offered a tasty cocnut rum drink. Dinner offered many options. We decided that in 6 nights we could try most of the items. Seafood marinara, Asian noodle dish were our first tastes. Both were very good. It was cloudy, so no sunset. It rained and rained all night.
