Long hike to mountain hut

Day 3-  the hike began with a cable car ride up to the top of the mountain. When we reached the top, it was gloomy and drizzling. Luckily for us we were able to put on our rain gear in the shelter of the cable car pavilion. Off we went. We had a wide path to start but then it was steep climb up. After about an hour, the sun came out and we were able to take off layers which is always a good thing. The trail led along the side of the mountain, with a lot of ups and downs. We had to hike over a few small rock fields, but it was the steep  ascents the were tough. This has definitely been the hardest hiking we have ever done. Besides one other person in our group, everyone else has hiked worldwide- Nepal, Iceland, New Zealand, Egypt, Australia, Canada, Chili, Peru and other places. It was a rough day. Near the end of the day, my ears started to feel clogged and  I got a head cold. Not good for hiking. Might have been a hard day, but the views spectacular! We finally saw our " hut" for the night along side a glacier lake.  Now a rough, steep decent before we reached our place for the night. Dorm style rooms and our group had an entire room. Good  soup and pasta for dinner, Jessica taught us a new card game- eight and back I think is the name. fun. Six of us played. We all then tried to sleep with 13 other people in the room. Not good sleep, but a real experience. Needed rest for tomorrow which we were told was going to be harder than today. Ugh!!!!
Pictures to follow when there is better wifi.
