First day in Paris- Notre Dame Cathedral, St. Chappell, markets in St. Germain and the Catacombs

Lots of walking today. We are only 2 blocks from the river and the Louvre Museum. We walked along the river and admired  the architecture of the buildings. Crossed the bridge and headed towards Notre Dame Catherdral.

Amazing! Toured inside. The beautiful rose window was stunning.

We decided to walk up over 400 steps to the different viewing areas to take in all of Paris. Great views all around.

So cool to see the entire city and landmarks. We walked around the the outside of the church and grabbed a snack.

The "island area", had many sights and we walked around checking out the old buildings. The Clock Tower, the Hall of Justice and finally Ste-Chapelle.

It has over 1000 stained glass windows. Pictures do not do it justice.

Onward to the Catacombs. The Catacombs of Paris  are underground ossuaries in Paris, France, which hold the remains of more than six million people in a small part of a tunnel network built to consolidate Paris' ancient stone mines. I Several people told us we should visit. It was creepy, yet fascinating. There are tunnels all over Paris and when we exited, we were blocks away from where we started.

A night walk through the market area of St. Germain. Fresh everything could be found. Took the bus back to the apartment but not before we had some eveing view of the area.
