Museee d'Orsay

The Musée d'Orsay is a museum in Paris, on the Left Bank of the Seine. It is housed in the former Gare d'Orsay, a Beaux-Arts railway station built between 1898 and 1900. The museum holds mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1914, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography. We first viewed painting by Monet, Renoir, Degas, Pissarro, and Cezanne. It was amazing seeing the painting I grew up studying in person. The museum had two special exhibits. The first was a special exhibit about John Renoir and his son, the famous painter was influeneced travel with his father as his father produced movies. There were movie posters, some done by Renoir and movie clips. Quite interesting. The second special exhibit was about Picasso- specifically his "Blue Period". It was a huge display of his work. Renior did sculpture work. We did not realize he was also a sculptor. T...
