Whistler summit and Angel Glacier

Day two of no rain! Yippee!!!! We took the Jasper Skytram up Whistler Mountain. From the tram station, you can hike up to the summit and explore the area on top. We had sun, clouds, snow, sun off and on all day up there. The views were awesome. It was interesting to watch the clouds swirl as the the updrafts from the valley forced them to change directions. We could see for miles. At three different time, rainbows formed as the sun shone thru the thin clouds. Amazing. We spent several hours on top. After, we had lunch at the restaurant at the station. Every table had outstanding views.
Even though it was cloudy off and on on the mountain top, it was sunny in the valley. Weather is always different at various elevations. We headed to Mount Edith and the Angel Glacier. The glacier hangs above Cavell Lake. The glacier resembles an angel with spread wings. Large cracks, called seracs can be easily viewed. We had to scramble over a rock field to get to the viewpoint. Again, cloudy at the higher elevation, but still a marvel to see.
